Blogging again

I'm finally able to post some pics again and almost back to normal with my computer issues. Still need to install my PED for my embroidery machine but all else back up and running. I have become a bit too dependent on my computer for all my craft folders and patterns etc and love my new addiction to blogging and checking out others blogs.
While I have had limited computer use and near death (slight exaggeration) experiences with the flu I have had a lot of indoor time for crafting although feeling like crap has left me not really wanting to do a lot.
I did manage to get a few things made though and started quite a lot and finished very little.
I have an account at Elfwood where I post fantasy art and dolls I make and have a friend on there who has been "pestering" me for months to make a jester so he will be happy I FINALLY got one finished. He also does some great fantasy work and draws charcters for his own stories so have some original designs there to make into doll form. That will be coming soon.

Isn't his little face cute?
That hat was a real pain in the proverbial though attatching it to such a little face but I did get it done eventually, with a few expletives thrown in for good measure.

I also finished a quick little stitchery I bought from Lisa at Button Bliss
that I have had sitting in the cupboard for months.
I've made a block to send to my friend in Scotland for our monthly block swap and started making a few block holder rolls for all the quilts I start. I always seem to have a few on the go at once. I can't help it there are so many pretty ones I want to make all at once!

On the home front we are doing renovations which I'm wondering will EVER be finished. We picked up this ceiling rose at a second hand shop for $25! I was sure there had to be a 0 on the end or something so we snatched it up before they realised their mistake but we got it for the bargain price! It needs a makeover to match our lounge room where it is going to be hung so started giving her a new colour scheme. That blue is horrible!

So have given it two coats of ceiling white to match our roof and adding pink and burgundy to match the colour scheme of our loungeroom. Kev liked it much better just with the off white and said "I'll hang it just as it is" Me being my creative self said "you can't hang it like that...wait until you see what I do with it"

So I've been working away at making it all prettyful...I really should have let Kev hang it as it was....what was I thinking??? This is the result of several hours of painting and it is NOWHERE near completion. Me and my wickedly divine ideas! Well it should look nice when it's done...just going to take me longer than I thought before it's hanging on our roof. The darker colour is actually a nice deep burgundy but doesn't show up true in the photo...possibly due to the bleak day outside and no sun shining in the windows. Its cold and wet in my part of the world...SO looking forward to Spring and Summer coming and we haven't even had a full week of official Winter yet! I'm a Summer lovin girl!
I'm off to get showered and into the nice snuggly warm pj's, and do some more of the stitchery to go on my block roll holder whilst staying snuggled up by our warm fire with a hot honey and lemon drink to soothe the sore throat. Until next time keep warm.. or for the over seas bloggers..send us some warmth ;)

Hi Shelley,
Glad to see you back in blogland and feeling better.
Gosh, this little guy is really cute and I love his face.
How long does it take to make one of these?
You must have a lot of patience!

Thank you Dawn I'll give that a go. I'm still learning it all ;)
Glad you like my Jester Anna and Michelle. He took me nearly a week to make but that was because of interruptions, sick kids. If I got to sit down uninterrupted he would have taken me a whole day. Lots of work. I didn't think I had a lot of patience Anna but then I always seem to make the stuff that takes a lot of work...seems the more intricate and involved the more I want to make it lol.
Just like that ceiling rose for instance...
hugs :)
