Crazy for Alice

Its been a cold one today! Winter is definately setting in. My dear daughter offered to light the fire for me this morning and got a raging warm one going. I can see it burning away in the fireplace as I type. Nothing like a blazing open fire on a freezing cold day/night. Makes one feel lazy and sleepy though, when you're not fighting for a piece of it between 6 kids and two cats who park themselves in front of it. No matter how many times I say don't stand in front of the fire they always seem to hover in front of it. It's like the fire has its own gravitational pull!
The cats enjoyed being inside and Pugsly (the worlds biggest sook) lapped it up big time!

Ahhhh...he has no shame.

I do love these cold and wet days for crafting though. No need to feel guilty for not cleaning the yard or weeding...can't do it when its wet! That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it lol.
I managed to get the first block for my Alice quilt done today. I'm pleased with how it came out. Looking forward to making up more blocks. I need to purchase some more though ;)

I got the prints from a fellow blogger http://jraesshabbycottage.blogspot.com/ who makes some gorgeous stuff herself. I've purchased prints before on ebay from other sites and some ran disasterously when rinsed before heat setting. These are the best I have found yet. No run at all! I wont purchase from anyone else in future. And most importantly they are just gorgeous.

And before I forget I made the little White Rabbit who is also in the photo above from a pattern featured in Homespun magazine by the talented couple at http://thecartbeforethehorse.blogspot.com/ I am working on the little Alice doll that goes with the rabbit as well. My baby girl will have a whole Alice in Wonderland theme in her bedroom and if she doesn't like them when she's older...then I score the loot.
I also have a lovely new picture of Danae the Rose Elf posing sweetly in the garden for her cover shot of the pattern that will be available for purchase next week. Just playing around with the layout for the cover and proof reading and she'll be ready to print and take over the world!

She will also be joined by some Wickedly Divine friends in the very near future. They can all join Alice and have a great big Mad Hatter's tea party.

Hi Sweetie, Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving me a blog comment. I do not mind at all that you mentioned me in your blog! Thank you so much! The way to make the link "live" is when you do the new post at the top near the same place that you add photos is a thing to let you add the link to make it actually work. It is on the left of the little pic adding thingy(technical term...LOL) it simply says "link". When you click on that it will bring up a box for the web address you want to add.
I just recently discovered this myself after 2 years of blogging. Hope my instructions are understandable and that it helps you! Have a wonderful day! Hugs, Julie
P.S. I would love to add images of your Alice Creations to my blog if that is okay with you???
