A fairy for my little fairy

My latest creation. I am friends on facebook with a very talented artist named Joanne Schempp who paints beautiful fairies and mermaids. Occassionally she offers her linework for printing out as a colouring page before she paints her piece and this was one she offered a couple of months back.
I asked her last week if it was ok to use it in a stitchery for Danae and she kindly said yes. Actually she said she was honoured I would want to use her image and could I share a pic in her fan section when it was done as she has no fan re-creations on her page. So I'm honored to be the first and I'm sure I wont be the last with all her fantastic pics.

It was also the first time I've ever done mitred corners. I could never figure it out until I saw a picture tutorial in Moda's Bake Shop explaining how it was done on a table runner. Easy when you're shown how! So I'll be able to mitre all my quilts now. I've only ever been self taught with all my craft ventures so it may take me longer than others to pick up some things ;)
It was also a first for making the yo-yo style flower...I'll be making more of those in future.
So I'm off to do some more sewing.... but first I need to do a spot of cleaning.........
My kids love 2 minute noodles and I keep asking myself why I buy these tasty treats. They eat them dry with the spice sprinkled over the top in the packet or cooked....which is the best way I reckon. They have finally answered a question for me. For years I have said 'I don't know which is messier...dry 2 minute noodles or cooked 2 minute noodles?'

Dry.................

Cooked...............

I think it's a tie!!

Just beautiful Shelley, you've done a great job with the fairy design. I love those 2 minute noodles too, don't think I could eat them dry though!! Anyway what's a few noodles here and there, as long as they're happy and healthy!! Keep on creating!! Hugs Robyn

Hey Shelley! Your faerie looks fab! Well done! Yep ... mitred corners are pretty simple once you get the hang of them and make quilts/hangings etc look so much neater. Oh .. and Happy Anniversary to you and your handsome prince! :0) Bear Hugs! KRIS
