Gothic Arches challenge and a finish...I think

I have been following a blog called Gothic Arches Challenge blog for a while and been ooohing and aahhhing over all of the beautiful designs people have come up with using the gothic arch shape. Most of these are cards or tags using beautiful papers and embellishments in single arch or triptych form. Most are small pieces some a bit larger. You are given a prompt or challenge of one word and left to your own devices to come up with something arty. I've been wanting to join in one for a while now but when this weeks challenge word was "Crown" I knew I had the perfect papers and embellishments to meet this challenge.

I hand painted the princess myself and the rest is scrapbooking papers and embellishments, rub ons, beads etc

Kevin made the frame/canvas from old floor boards pulled out of the house and it's quite heavy. I originally had painted an angel on it overlooking the ocean and just never really liked it and wanted to do something else on it for over a year...and it hung and hung on the wall and everytime I walked past it I thought..I really have to paint over it. So I did...all black.. and left it again cause I had no idea what I wanted to paint on it.

So now it is hanging back on the wall in the dining room and I like this picture much better so I think I can say its a finish for Joys Finishing Stitches challenge too although technically it doesn't have any stitches in it. Does it still count?

I'm happy at least it's not ugly anymore :) Now to pull out some more UFO's. PLENTY of those laying about.....
